Its only day 4 on my way to a healthy lifestyle and already i have noticed such a difference.  I have a lot more energy, am a lot less tired and less stressful.  Its amazing what great support , encouragement and advice can do to help you to reach your goals.

I am very pleased to have noticed such a difference in such a short amount of time coz not only does it benefit me it benefits my 3 week old son.  I have found that i have a lot more energy for him, my milk supply is going fantastically and i am not feeling so rundown.  I have even managed to get the housework done everyday without feeling miserable about it.

These past four days i have used a lot of the recipe ideas from this site as well as some of my own ideas to create healthy nutritious meals, i have guzzled back plenty of water and slowly cut out fizzy drinks, juices etc.  I have also managed to put baby in his pram and go for a half hour walk each day which has been an awesome dose of fresh air and a bit of exercise.

I am so glad i found this site, it has been a great motivator.

Well I have not had a proper break since I was 17, which is about 10 years ago. I have had little getaways but nothing too long...I am glad to finally get some rest. It feels so good.

Tonight I made a Betalife recipe. It is the vegetarian sweet potato and lentil burgers. I substituted WHEATGERM for LSA due to my gluten intolerance, and I had no lemons to make the juice but I was very surprised at how nice it was. I made extra so I can eat it tomorrow if I need to. Lentils are nice, they are also feeling.

Went to gym this afternoon, did well considering my 9 days away and then the whole fortnight before just moving stuff (although moving house probably helped me to keep fit). Am going tomorrow morning to get an evaluation done, so I can know how to use their equipment. They have lots of new equipment compared to my old gym. It's still Fernwood, I just transferred my membership.  I got to use my new gym clothes that dave bought me for Christmas. Nice Lorna Jane ones that I would never purchase myself because they are so expensive. But he did well, they fit.

Lots of wedding prep going on, and lots of expenditure unfortunately....chapel, rest of photo money, it also looks like the car will need to get serviced soon because I had a scare today at the shops, it wouldnt start for ages!

It's so good to get on here after 9 days and see more faces, and more people blogging. That's exciting!

Anyways til next time...

i realised that today is the first day of the rest of my life and I want to be slimmer, fitter ,happier and content. To be able to do this I know I have to take control over the things that make me take that extra slice of bread or that piece of chocolate.I am asking myself if  I really enjoyed them and I find the answer is no.I will try to take all of the advise from Betalife and I will beat the battle of the wills to eat or not to eat. all that is tempting.I picture fresh salad with a large amount of colour and all the yummy fruit or vegetables then i think of a sandwich.Really there is no comparison.I have it in my mind that it is quicker to make a sandwich than a salad but really if you have a fresh salad in the frig you can have a healthy snack in seconds and the combined colours and smells of fresh produce is by far superior than bread.I just have to retrain my brain into accepting what is best for me.I think this time is my time to spend the rest of my life looking and feeling much better. Is there someoneout there who wants to take up the challenge and join me and win this battle against a life of being overweight and go for the stars and lose this weight?Together we will succeed.Alone I make excuses.why i need that extra but if you have someone to talk to then you forget about the food and enjoy talking to someone.I know that 2009 will be our year to a fitter life and we will look and feel soooooo good for it.I hope everyone reaches for the stars and that goal weight is reached.good on you one and all.Have a great day and keep smiling. You are all beautiful.Rae

I am so excited, I just cant wait but am also very nervouse! Why? In 9 days I will find out if I have been excepted into uni to do a bachelor of accounting (distence ed).

I dont know what to expect and want to know more about what i will be doing, what text books i need, how much study time required, when the assignments are due.... So much to know but I have to wait!

I have applied for a scholarship to help with text books ext, if i dont get it then i can still do it but will strugglea bit more and will have to hunt for second hand text books which might not be possible as generally accounting stuff needs to have the most current texts so will need to buy some new.

So anyway, 9 days and counting...

Six days in to the new year and I have managed to maintain my new years resolutions to stop keeping junk food in the house, in the hope that we will all start eating a bit better.   Must be a record for me, but so far I am feeling great and not craving sugar at all!!  I decided that while the kids are on holidays I would not buy any sweet biscuits - any we had we would make ourselves, hoping that the extra effort required would stop us eating a whole pack at a time.  I dont think it has acheived that, yesterdays biscuits we made were finished off this morning ( not by me, I only had a couple), but the kids polished them off pretty quick so they still had way too many, but at least it was minus all the colors and preservatives so its not too bad.  And now they have to wait for a few days until we make some more.

I am feeling surprisingly good and have been to the supermarket twice and walked past the lollies and soft drink without a second glance, which is pretty good for me because normally I would buy a coke or chocolate even if I didnt feel like it, just  in case I felt like it later, which I always did.  Here's hoping it lasts.  I am yet to do much exercise except a few laps of the pool, but hopefully I will get some more sleep in the next few days as the babys last molar has finally come through, and then I might have some spare energy.  I have done a lot of housework so I guess that counts.

All in all I think it has been a pretty good start to the new year, I just hope it continues because I really am sick of being overweight and feeling unhealthy and having my life completely controlled by sugar!!!  Fingers crossed.......

This week has been great.  After all the extra stuff over Xmas and New year I'm back on track and eating well and feeling loads better too!  It always seems such a good idea at the time but it does make me feel not great longer term!

I'm really honing in on visualisation as well, which is helping enormously.  Lots of goals to focus on which should keep me on the right track :)
