Weight loss pills

Frya's picture

I sometimes wish that there was a pill that would stop or reduce my appetite to give me the chance to loose a bit without too much efford.  I have looked on the inter-net and although many products offer magic none of them have any prove.  I have spend money in the past in the hope that there was such a miracle pill but they were mostly vitamins and not harmfull but also not what I wanted.  What I do need at times is a bit of will power.  I can sometimes struggle for days longing for cakes and biscuits and other times I am happy with the healthy food I give myself.  I have tried to find the trigger that gets me ionto those moods but have not been able to do this.  I know one thing that help me is that I have plenty of fruit with me to work but also baking that is from the BetaLife recepy page.  I do panick when I long for the wrong foods and will eat these until I can withdraw from them again.  Has anyone found a solution to this?  Or are you like me that you have your off days and your good days?  Let's hear what is out there!

There is a pill out there that you can get on prescription and it does supress your appetite, works really well in fact, but it comes as a cost, not just $ cost but in other ways. Willpower is the best option and beats any pill on the market. It also gives you more satisfaction knowing you can do it, that your strong enough to change your life.

Yes, a couple of years ago, my doctor gave me a prescription for these very expensive slimming tablets (over $100-00) can't remember the name, I took one and felt *awful*, tried a second one -felt worse.... never again!
Frya, I noticed a message to say members can still join in the challenge, please join in with us, it could just be the trigger to get you on the right path.

PS

Frya, I have just been reading an article about Michael Jackson, it could have been about Federer, or any famous person. Famous Olympians....all successful people had to work to get the Gold medals, sell the most recordings etc. How much do want to be healthy.?
It isn't impossible, look at our Betalife founders.
Although someone can be born with talent, they still have to work hard, to achieve results.
Benn & Renee, would have spent many hours planning & making the DVD's etc. it didn't just happen.
Anything you can think of is possible, if you want it enough.

Hi Frya
You need to be the one to make the decision to make the changes in your life. Once you decide it is easy.

12 week challenge

O.K I am in. What is the goal and where can I find the blib about the challenge. I notice that people have weighed themselves and their BMI. What do I do. I want to loose 3 kg by September.

I've tried all sorts of things, fatblasters etc...but would not use them now. We all have good and bad days, even when you are in a routine, you'll have an odd day here and there....I know it's tough...I've been struggling too..hang in there..just start with little changes.

All medications come with side effects unfortunately...

Exercise suppresses your appetite and lots of water helps....
But you are right we all have our good days and our bad ones...

I have struggled with willpower for a very longtime and even now it can get the better of me.
When I really crave for all the bad foods I don't completely rule them out. Instead I take the time and apply the info in 'LESSON ONE' of the Betalife Get Started Guide -'I will eat and drink smaller portions'.

The Key points I follow from this lesson are:
"Never feel guilty for eating. This sets off the mentality that you have already blown it for today, so you might as well eat lots and start again fresh tomorrow."

1. Always create a pleasant environment for you to eat in. If you want a biscuit from the cupboard or pantry, take one, put it on a plate, sit down and enjoy it. This applies to everything – a piece of cake, some chips from a packet, some cheese, nuts or olives.

2. Never allow this to be a large portion. Start off with one, or a small piece. If you want some more, go back and follow the same ritual. Take a small amount and put it on your plate. Go back, eat it and be conscious when you are eating. You will probably find however that it wasn’t as good as the first one!

3. For this reason, resist the temptation to go back again a third time. You will end up regretting it (which is not good) and it simply won’t taste as good.

Wonderful Frya, I am so happy you will join us in the *!2 week Spring Challenge*. There is a large sign on the home page, or you can go to the Forum, and you will see the Challenge in the list, just follow the directions.
It has helped me so much, for the first time in 2 years I can see light at the end of the tunnel! Eye-wink

Missed the weigh in.

I have not weighed myself for a wee while(I wonder why)so will start tomorrow. I go to the gym on Mondays and have to be out of the door quickly or else I miss out on time. Had a small slip today but that is o.k. ate fruit once back in the office. Our work always has many morning tea's for some sort of celabration or leaving, coming of people. I usually take some fruit and leave the caf if I find it hard, other times I allow myself a savory or a small piece of cake, however sweet is my trigger so try not to. And yous are right there are days whereby it all seems so easy and other days can be a struggle. Winter does not help either as I love good walks on the weekend but the weather in not helping. I have made some nice bikkies for supper out of the BetaLife recepies. Something to look forward to. I have also made the breakfast bars and I use them for a muesli bar to work, love them. So the challenge is on. GOOOOOO Frya.
