What figure do I go by???

This morning being my general weigh in day I jumped on my scales at home at the figure said 58.8kg (NEW RECORD) was a bit unsure of that so I placed the scales on a harder surface and went again, only showed a slight difference (59.1kg) but it was still quite low. I checked again before leaving home and it was still saying 59.1 - let's just say I was ecstatic, I haven't been this low in weight in a few years at least.

However the downside comes that when I got to the chemist and jumped on their scales for my 'somewhat official' weigh in, it said 62.9kg - HOW CAN IT GIVE SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE???? I'd had no breakfast, only 1 cup of tea and nothing else. Baffled me I'll tell you that, last week wasn't too bad diet wise and the weekend was perfect.

So I guess the question is - WHAT FIGURE SHOULD I USE???

Use mine as I'm the only one that uses my scales, or use the chemists where a lot of people use those scales.

Were you clothed when you weighed at home?
I have checked with Tony Ferguson scales ( they are excellent, & for a short time I was a member) I have found they are always one kg lower than mine.
I weigh just before leaving home & within 5 minutes I am on their scales, each time their scales are exactly one kg lighter, so I always deduct 1 kg from mine.
Over the years I have found the home scales not always perfect. To answer your question, I would go by the first reading.

I was wearing my pj's when I first weighed, but again when I weighed before leaving home I was wearing all my work clothes and it still said 59.1 : ) I guess I'll go by that number this week and see how it goes next week. When I first got these scales a few months ago they had a -300gm difference to the ones at the chemist, so I guess I'll use mine as my official weigh from now on.

I always weigh myself naked first thing in the morning so its the same time of day etc.... I even take off my necklace (which has some heavy stones on it) and my watch...(you never know what difference it could make...LOL)

I would go by your scales as they are the ones you weigh yourself by... Every set is slightly different but its the difference in your scales that matters the most no matter what the reading is..
For me I would probably take the reading you got on the hard floor ( your 2nd reading)

LOL Everyone will have a different idea... Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

I think I will calibrate my scales at home with my dumbells or put them in my gym bag and take them to the gym to calibrate them with a heavier 10kg weight : ) if that comes up correct then I'll know whether to trust my scales or not. Also might change the batteries just in case.

This week I'll say my weigh in was at 60.5kg to be on the safe side and not set myself up for disappointment next week if things go the other way. I seriously hope not but fingers crossed.

Does not matter which one you use as long as you use the same one each and every time and at the same time. best option is first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything.
scales can vary even if you step from one to the other which is why its so important to be consistant
