group pilates

I started a couple of years ago in a group with a teacher. Love doing it and am much stronger. I began to help with a bad back and it certainly has made a difference and doing it in a group keeps you on track. You don't tend to miss classes you have already paid for!!! I think the advantage of having a teacher is that she picks up quickly when you are doing the moves wrongly and helps you correct them.

Pilates

I go to pilates group with a teacher and love it. We work in groups of up to 12 and I am sure it is the best way to go. I started because I have some damage to one of the discs in my lower spine which was causing a lot of pain in my lower back expecially in bed. Now I hardly know it is there. Pilates is great for strengthening core muscles so holds everything in place. Considering how easy it is to not do the exercises correctly, I am glad that I joined a class rather than trying to do the exercises at home though now I know more I am happy to do sessions at home by myself.

first attempt :)

so today i decided to attempt a whole 20min dvd session of pilates Smiling it was a laugh but i also felt it working too! Some of the exercises i found difficult to do but tried my best. I definitely felt my abs working and also my backside. Might try doing it again tomorrow and see how it goes Smiling i also did about 5 mins of yoga which i found really relaxing

i'm a member of contours which is similar to curves, i think i just need a bit more variety in my exercise activities to target all areas of fitness, cardio, flexability and strength.
